Beef Shorthorn were amongst the champions at Craven Native Day staged at Skipton Auction Mart on Wednesday 8 May. The overall reserve title went to Wells Horatio, a Dacre Rock Star son from Stuart and Debbie Robinson, Horton-in-Ribblesdale, North Yorkshire. He sold for 1,050gns to Stephen Eastwood, Kirklees, West Yorkshire.

The event also attracted over 100 head of store cattle. Beef Shorthorn sired entries were amongst them with first prize going to a 20-month-old steer from John and Janet Wilson, Settle, North Yorkshire and selling for £1,000 to Jim Snowden, Rylstone, North Yorkshire.

The Beef Shorthorn classes weresupported by the breed society and Morrisons.
